THE TEAM

Principal
Founder and CEO , Douglas S. Battaglia, is responsible for the financial and investment related activities. Growing up Venice Florida, with his father being a custom builder, the importance of detail was instilled at an early age. In high school, Doug help organize and run a real estate investment club which bought and sold tax deeds and he has been pursuing real estate investments ever since. Doug built and sold his first house at the age of 19. In his early twenties Doug met and married his wife, Kari,who was developing her career in estate planning in the securities industry as a licensed stock broker for over 18 years. Kari soon joined her husband in his real estate investing, is now a Florida licensed real estate broker and is often seen assisting Doug in their many endeavors. Doug has developed, operated and sold several mini storage facilities; bought, sold and leased many residential and commercial properties and rehabilitations; acquired vacant land for development or resale in both Florida and Tennessee.
 
 
Operations
Director of Business Development , Lloyd Simmons, is responsible for locating new developmental land and investment opportunities for Battaglia Consulting. Lloyd has over 14 years experience in the construction and real estate industry. Lloyd owned and operated a flooring business in Sarasota County, Florida which expanded into residential remodeling and he also has a background in steel fabrication and engineering. When Lloyd is not hard at work, he can be found at home in Venice, Florida where he resides with his wife of five years, Jen, and their two year old son.
 
Management
Director of Properties, Jane Griswold , has been part of the Battaglia Consulting team since early 2000 and has been a Dunlap, Tennessee resident all of her life. She is also a successful Tennessee licensed (for over 9 years) real estate broker with ReMax. Jane is responsible for locating and identifying new investment opportunities in the Tennessee area; negotiating purchase and sale agreements; overseeing all property management, lease administration and tenant relations; and helps coordinate construction activities in Tennessee.
Facility Director, Art Krausmann, was handpicked by Doug in 1999 to join the Battaglia Consulting team. Art has an extensive background in management of a manufacturing company before joining our team. Art is highly trained in the self storage industry for over nine years now. Art is dedicated to the success of our business.
 
Construction
Field Contractor , Troy Kerr , has a successful construction company that specializes in steel building systems. Troy joined Battaglia Consulting in 1998 and assisted in the development of our first self storage facility in Tennessee and has been with us ever since. As a part of our team he handles the on site vertical steel construction with many of our commercial projects. His area of expertise is in rigid frame buildings, commercial and residential standing seam and screw down metal roofing for single to multi level storage facilities. With 25 years experience in the construction field, he is a valuable asset to our team.
 
Administrative
Comptroller , Susan Casteel , assists with the direction of general accounting transactions and maintains the general ledger and job costing to ensure reliable financial statement preparation and account reconciliation and works closely with our CPA.
Accounts Payable and Property Accountant, Sherry Porter, is responsible for accounts payable and assists with account reoncilitation for our affiliated company, Englewood Property Holdings. Sherry has been a Florida licensed broker since 1981.
